FEES

Urogynaecology Specialists is a private sub-specialist service. Our team of surgeons and nurses provide compreshesive outpatient and inpatient surgical care.

Out of pocket fees apply.

OUTPATIENT / CLINIC FEES

Private fees are billed on the day for all clinic/outpatient consultations. Accounts are expected to be settled on the day of consultation. If you hold both a valid medicare card and a current referral you will likely be eligible for a rebate from Medicare for some of this cost. It is your responsibility to ensure you have an in date referral on the day of your consultation.

Costs for protheses such a pessaries, post operative support garments, repeat scripts (when appropriate) and other products including postage are not rebatable.

For a current outpatient fee schedule please contact our rooms for a detailed list. Our outpatient fees are reviewed annually in November in accordance with Medicare.

INPATIENT FEES - MAJOR SURGERY

For all major surgical procedures Dr Gould and Dr Cameron-Jeffs follow the Australian Medical Association (AMA) fee schedule. You will be given a detailed quotation of these fees once your procedure is confirmed. This is only after consultation with our doctors and surgical consent.

A deposit of 50% of surgical fees is required to confirm your preferred date and location. Your deposit is due a minimum of 14 days prior to your surgical date (28 days for surgical dates in November and December due to the high demand for these dates). Surgery dates are only confirmed once deposit has been received.

Remaining fees are usually due 14 days after your procedure. Following surgery, any rebate from your health fund or Medicare is your responsibility to claim after your account has been settled.

INPATIENT FEES - MINOR SURGERY

For minor surgical procedures and some day cases Dr Gould and Dr Cameron-Jeffs may choose to charge a co-payment also called a “known gap” instead of AMA fees. This is at their discretion. If a known gap is charged (usually $400-$500), then the remaining surgical fees will be billed directly to your health fund. The “gap” must be paid 14 days prior to your procedure and this acts as a deposit to confirm your surgery date and location. Surgery dates are only confirmed once deposit has been received.

URODYNAMIC ASSESSEMENTS

For urodynamic assessments Dr Gould and Dr Cameron-Jeffs bill your private health fund directly. In this case there is no out of pocket cost to you for this procedure. However, depending on your level of inpatient cover, you may need to pay an excess or co-payment directly to the hospital. Any hospital excess fee is independent of Dr Gould and Dr Cameron-Jeffs.

If you don’t hold private health cover or are not covered by your fund for urodynamic assessment, we will provide you with a detailed quote prior to your assessment. Payment is then required prior to urodynamic assessment. It is your responsibility to check your level of private health cover prior to any procedures.

Due to the significant demand for our Urodynamic service we reserve the right to charge a fee if you cancel within 48hours or fail to attend your assessment. This is a non rebatable fee of $500 and it is due if we have been unable to reschedule another patient into your spot at short notice.

Please contact our rooms for any further questions you have regarding our fees.
